Following several years of test-pitting, MAS are getting to grips with this prestigious site by undertaking a full excavation. The Church House was demolished in 1890 but is built on the cellar of a thatched pub. It is at the gates of St Leonard’s Church which was rebuilt in the 15th century and is the oldest Church in Greater Manchester.
