A free school of Queen Elizabeth I which was founded in 1572 and fed Brasenose College, Oxford with students. It is the oldest school bulding in Greater Manchester and is beautifully restored. It was the school that Arts & Crafts architect Edgar Wood attended and he married the daughter of its headmaster! Guides will be available to assist visitors with tour.
