With both Middleton Parish Church and Long Street Methodist Church not being open these coming Heritage Open Days, why not visit St Martin’s Church, Low Marple, Cheshire instead?

This is an Arts and Crafts Church loved and even painted by Middleton’s Edgar Wood.

Saint Martin’s Church is an Anglican church following the traditions of the Anglo-Catholic Oxford Movement. It was established in 1867 by Mrs Hudson of Brabyns Hall. Built by John Dando Sedding and extended by Henry Wilson, the Arts and Crafts church contains art works by William Morris, Dante Gabrielle Rosetti, Sir Edward Burne-Jones, Ford Maddox Brown and Christopher Whall.
