The new Middleton Historic Research Group had a successful first meeting with 30 local historians, archaeologists, and heritage enthusiasts coming together at the picturesque Ye Olde Boar’s Head P.H. Middleton.
Geoff Wellens gave an illustrated talk about the breadth of history and heritage in Middleton and the need for research, recording and publishing. After the talk there was an excellent discussion about how best to carry these out using the available resources. Most people put their names forward for the next meeting which will be published soon… watch this space!
