Yesterday was a busy evening at Middleton Heritage. First the Heritage Film Group met to discuss the progress of the Edgar Wood film.. over five hours of footage has now been filmed! There was lots of technical talk and discussion about buying a new Mac with a higher spec. computer to handle all the hi res. footage. The poster for the film is also being planned.
This was followed by the Archaeology Society and an excellent talk by Kerry Beeston on View from the Finds Hut plus ‘Found in Middleton’ Middleton a fascinating exhibition of the finds from recent digs outside St Leonard’s church and Hopwood Hall grounds.
At the same time, the Edgar Wood Society (photo above) had a committee meeting to work through various projects, including the upcoming Middleton Golden Cluster Month and Heritage Open Days in September. The society is also planning a paint analysis of the interior of the Edgar Wood Centre, funded by the Townscape Heritage Initiative.
Not bad for one evening!
